SEPTEMBER

What's happening in September?

The summer is over and it’s back to school/work time. In some ways it’s a relief. September always feels like a new year to me.

Probably going from school to university and then back to school as a teacher is the reason for that! I always get a burst of renewed energy and enthusiasm at the start of term….oh, and a new diary and stationery of course!

But it’s also a return to early mornings, homework, after school clubs and…….the eternal dilemma of WHAT to make for packed lunch!!

So, I’ve spent the first few days of one of my favourite months, planning, writing new blogs, testing out a few new packed lunch options, food shopping and generally settling back to ‘normal’ (whatever that is) life.

Monday was also my first ‘structured’ workout after a 2 month break. I woke up Tuesday morning thinking I’d got away lightly but as the day wore on, that seemed not to be the case. Ouch!!

New year (September) is always a time for out with the old and in with the new. I’ve written so many blogs I want to share with you which will be full of useful and usable tips and advice. I’m a big believer in keeping things simple and being efficient. We all have too much to do to start making things complicated.

September is also a great time of year to set up new routines or ‘start’ all those things you’ve always been meaning to do.

Why wait for January?

Do it NOW!

EXERCISE A fitness routine doesn’t have to be hours in the gym or a 10km run. It can be as simple as 10 minutes a day. It’s so much easier to commit to and therefore something you are more likely to stick with. This all or nothing approach has been the downfall of many a new year resolution. I’ll be sharing some of my training sessions I’ll be using to get my fitness back on track after the long summer break.

NUTRITION The world of nutrition is full of conflicting information and that makes it difficult for anyone to know what to do for the best. Time is valuable and we just want to know what’s going to work for us and what is not. For most people I have worked with, getting this right is the hardest part. I will be continuing to give practical advice backed up with experience and science and also sharing some tried and tested recipes (packed lunch ones included)

LIFESTYLE What else is going on in my life? The usual body hacking experiments (I will share), organising my next travel trip, training and nutrition planning, trying out some new products/treatments and trying to catch up on this years photo book….busy month as usual.
